Redmond Real Salt and why I use it

I’ve used the for a couple of years now, and so I’m really excited to be able to work with them here at NFW. Their salt graces my cabinets more than any other and it’s definitely the unprocessed salt that Todd prefers.

I love that it hasn’t been stripped of its minerals, instead leaving them for us. And our bodies need all the minerals they can get as our food supply seems to have less and less of them as the years go by.

And salt is essential for our health. (surprised? yea, I was too when I first heard about it!) This short video from Real Salt is really interesting – because while I’ve read books on salt, I never had a visual of how salt can affect our bodies.

Amazing huh?

I was also surprised at how many types of salt and seasonings they offer – and here I thought it was just salt that they sold. but they have a seasoning salt that I took out of the package as soon as I’d received it to use for dinner that night.

Todd was pleased.

Especially since I refused to buy his favorite seasoning salt a few years back.

They also sell a garlic salt and an onion salt, both of which will be used regularly in our house.

My love for the Redmond products has grown recently though. See those other items they sent me? Not salt at all!

They also have the Redmond Clay line which uses bentonite clay.

Now, I haven’t done a tons of research on this yet, but I’m slowly learning more and hearing more about it.

Bentonite Clay is good for topical preparations for skin ailments as well as internal consumption for many digestive issues. I like the facemask, and while I’m hoping I don’t have a reason to use the first aid tube, I know I’ll be armed for the summer.

And the Earthpaste Toothpaste has become the only natural toothpaste I’ll buy.

Even Todd, who has scoffed at every other tube I’ve brought home or batch that I’ve tried to make myself, claims that this cleans his teeth better than conventional toothpaste.

Finally! I have a toothpaste that’s free of chemicals and toxins that my entire family can use, even the little ones.

    I haven’t gotten a chance to do much with clay (though bentonite seems to be a good place to start), but I’d love to try using some of their clay powder. There’s so much that can be done with it (toothpaste, poultices, masks, etc) that it’s just really fascinating.

    Love these products. I have used the RealSalt for years now and just recently ordered bath salts, clay, facial mud and earthpaste. Phenomenal products every one. Pure, simple and good for you.     I am 47 years old. My Dr. ‘s and my family took my salt away from me. Since I love cooking and do so every day for my daughter and I use salt for everything.
